Are you doing the Will of God in this Generation?

After David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed. - Acts 13:36 When I read this verse this morning, it made my heart jump thinking about the weight of finishing strong in life. I get a real sense of completion in Davids’ life by reading this. I get the sense of, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” He was known as a man after God’s own heart. I’m called and I feel the weight daily to be a leader in my generation. It’s not an option for me. To be quite honest, I don’t think it’s much of an option for any of us anymore. With today’s amazing world of social networking, we are each leading out in something… at least our thoughts, where we check in, etc. The world can easily see where you are, what you’re doing, and what motivates you during the day. I realize there are different levels of leadership especially those who have a public platform, however, it does amaze me that anyone, I mean anyone can post something and with the hit of a button… It’s worldwide! Makes you think doesn’t it? It’s bigger than just social networking. Really…What are we doing for God in our own generation. Now more than ever, we need to step up and lead this generation in the things of God. We don’t need more religion, we need Jesus! We need to be like Jesus. So many people are daily trying to figure out what the will of God is for their lives. I can’t tell you exactly what His will is for you, but I can guarantee that whatever it is, it will point glory to Him and not you. It will be something that causes dependence on Him. God is jealous for His glory and will not settle for anything less…So if you’re reading this today and find yourself struggling with what His will is for you… You might consider some (or all): 1.) Silence- (learn to listen) 2.)Extended time of Prayer 3.) Read the Word 4.) Fast 5.) Serve (focus on someone else instead of yourself) Just as a friendly reminder, this won’t be the last time you will be at this spot in your lifetime. If you’re following God, you will learn to listen more intently and wait to hear what He has in store and day by day you will find yourself growing in faith. I can only hope that at the end of my life, it can be said that I did the will of God in my generation. What a great reason for us to chase God today with faith that He will come through and use us to reach and change this generation and quite possibly many more to come! I’m praying for you today that God will speak clearly and use You to complete His will for this generation. He will amaze you at how He comes through! Let’s run with passion this week!! Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will. - (Romans 12:1-2)
